To learn and share insights on sales, networking, branding and other things that may facilitate income and possibly collaboration on future writing projects and events. It is not a writers' group but more a writers' 2.0 group. What is next, and how do I get these boxes of books into the hands of readers? Let's chat, share tips and learn from and with each other.

Sneak Peek From Monique’s Upcoming Novel Voodoo Café:
Mabel Berkeley had a knack for transforming the most everyday food into a warped version of itself. She’d been creating alternate recipes for Cricket Lake’s summer food contest for a dozen years and had won many prizes.
Phineas had only known her for a couple of those years but had learned to be wary of her culinary experiments. Her bacon & egg lasagna was delicious, but her flower jello or varmint stew…not so much.
“Since you won’t do a séance at the Halloween party,” she said, “we have to offer people something to keep them at the café long enough to spend some money. Penny and I came up with a couple of ways for folks to do their own funny fake psychic readings, but they can pay us for a real one too. We’re also working on some new charm bags and maybe a couple games for the kiddos, like stick-the-pin-in-the-voodoo-doll or even a zombie piñata or two.”
Mabel peeled the lids off several plastic containers and Phin leaned in for a closer look, wondering what she expected him to eat this time. The closest held pastries in wonky shapes, some oozing red globs. They smelled delicious, despite their ragged condition.
“They look normal enough,” Phin said, though he knew there would be some sort of twist to them. He picked one up and bit deeply. The crust was buttery and flaky, and he tasted strawberries, but what were these salted crunchy bits and gummy strings? He stopped chewing and raised an eyebrow.
“They’re fake road-kill!” Mabel laughed gleefully at his reaction. “I stirred pretzels and spaghetti into my strawberry jam to make bones and innards. I’ll probably press more details into the dough before baking the next batch and then add some icing for fur and blood - though it’s not like we have to make them look like real animals.” She examined one closely, then compared its thickness to the other road-kill pastries.
“But they should be well-squished, like they’ve just come off the highway. I might even poke a couple of them so the noodles bulge out like intestines. I mean, it’s a Halloween party. They’ll expect the snacks to be disgusting.”
Phin just smiled and reached for the next container of twisted treats.
