Collection: Grace Atkinson

Grace Atkinson has an MSW from the University of Victoria and a BSW from Lakehead University. She has worked more than twenty-five years in child welfare with First Nations and Aboriginal communities and agencies. Graces' recent experience includes writing and facilitating on-line cultural competency training for non-Aboriginal adoptive parents of Aboriginal children. Her research interests include maintaing cultural ties for Aboriginal children in care and how non-Aboriginal social workers become allies in the work to ensure better outcomes for children, families and communities. "Do No Further Harm: Becoming a White Ally in Child Welfare Work with Aboriginal Children, Families, and Communities" is her first book. .
